A wee bit about me

A journalist of 20 years with The Star English national daily in Malaysia, I have covered a wide range of health and social/public policy issues.

Think everyone has a role to play, whether big or small, in changing the political and social landscape in the country to make it the best place to live in.

Would like to see serious healthcare reforms implemented in the near future and quality of healthcare improved especially for the poor and those living in remote areas.

Believe that a combination of socialism and some level of capitalism work best for a society.

Prefers democracy over theocracy. Religion should not be institutionalised but good elements from faiths and philosophies could be debated on its benefits and adopted in public policy for a more moral and sustainable society.

Racism is abhored.

The rights of the Orang Asal (indigenous people) should be recognised and reinstated where it had been neglected or trampled upon. All exploitation and bullying against them must stop.

Children here need to be more protected by families, society and the state....
